Posting a request costs 1 credit. For flights with stops, you'll need to post a request for each flight leg because the loads will differ per leg and each leg needs to be answered separately. 

There are different ways to acquire additional credits, like answering open requests, inviting friends to join StaffTraveler or purchasing them.
